Kdenlive (pronounced Kay-den-live) is a Non Linear Video Editing Suite for KDE. It is released under the GNU Public License.

Kdenlive uses Piave as it's video rendering engine to display and manipulate video clips. We have now reached our first milestone release. The current version of kdenlive/piave features :

Kdenlive is being developed as a suite of several seperate programs, to aid in the reuse of resources and to allow the program to be spread across multiple computers. The following programs have so far been defined

By breaking the system into seperate programs, it will be relatively easy to port to different environments, and to make it compatable with new hardware.
